Amazon Games says it would consider a Lost Ark console port if fans want it

Amazon Games and developer Smilegate say a Lost Ark console port could happen if it was something fans really wanted. Talk of the possible version was teased by Amazon Games franchise boss Soomin Park in an interview with VG247, asking if his hugely popular MMO would ever make the jump to PlayStation or Xbox.

This doesn’t really confirm anything, other than Park’s answer suggesting that both parties would be open to it, while also putting the version in the hands of their PC user base. If it were to happen, it’s not as if Smilegate doesn’t have experience bringing its games to console platforms, as they recently introduced CrossfireX to Xbox Series X/S.

Adapting Lost Ark for consoles that players are most comfortable with might be difficult, but Diablo III, a game similar to Lost Ark in gameplay, discovered the formula, so perhaps Lost Ark could figure it out, too. The PC version on Steam Deck, which has yet to be verified, could be a way for the developer to test the waters on a controller-cheaper version of Lost Ark.

During the interview, Park alluded to his rivalry with longtime Blizzard franchise Diablo, saying that they “definitely feel there’s an opportunity for Lost Ark to establish itself as a major player.” One way to do that is through a console port, which seems to be more of a mystery at this point, but it’s nice to see Amazon talking about it in some way, even if it’s so vague as to whether they would even do it .
