All modes in Sonic Origins

What game modes are available in Sonic Origins?

Three separate game modes are offered in Sonic Origins. The first is of course the Classic mode. This presents the game in its original 4:3 aspect ratio with a limited number of lives. Going back to the original four limited-life games is exceptionally challenging, and in other collections, many saves had to be loaded over and over.

The second offer is the anniversary mode. It thankfully comes with unlimited lives and an all-new full-screen resolution reminiscent of the excellent Sonic Mania. Drop dashing is also enabled in this mode.

If you’re only interested in the bosses from the classic Sonic the Hedgehog era, feel free to play boss rush. You will blast through all the big bosses from every game. At the time of writing, we don’t know how customizable this feature is. It would be cool if you could blitz through the bosses from Sonic the Hedgehog all the way to Sonic CD.

Also, if you want to play each level in a new light, you can use the mirror mode. This way you can play each level from right to left. It would certainly be an odd playthrough, but it would change the classic gameplay we know and love in a fun way. A blue orb mode is also available so you can play the extra mini-game at any time.

Last but not least there is the mission mode. You have to go through levels customized by the developers and achieve a goal like collecting 50 gold rings in record time. You are rated on your performance, which gives the game some replayability.
