All game modes included in the mixtape playlist rotation in Apex Legends

Apex Legends has long been structured to give players a limited-time mode with each new season or collection event it introduces – but no more. Beginning in Season 16, the battle royale will host a rotation of popular LTMs in what is known as the mixtape playlist. While this will definitively replace a long-standing mode, there will be a cluster of three new and returning experiences in its place. Here’s every limited time mode featured in the Apex Legends mixtape playlist.

What modes are currently in rotation for the Apex Legends Mixtape playlist?

Beginning March 7th, Apex fans will witness the permanent implementation of Mixtape, a playlist featuring three game modes that will rotate over a short period of time. It is announced that the playlist will offer different modes in each season and those that will appear during the 16th season are officially confirmed. You can find all available LTMs in the mixtape playlist below.

control

Control has appeared briefly every season since Season 12 and is now becoming a staple for at least the remainder of Season 16. Its ruleset is heavily inspired by other shooters’ dominance modes, as two groups of nine Legends must earn points by securing three zones on a given map. In terms of gameplay, each Legend can respawn as many times as needed and improve their class’ weapons through their rating system. A team is crowned champion once a total of 1,250 points have been accumulated.

In this LTM, four teams of three compete to see who can achieve eliminations with 25 different weapons. After earning an elimination, you’re immediately granted the next weapon, and this cycle continues until a team earns an elimination with the final weapon: a throwing knife.

Team Deathmatch

The latest in the series, Team Deathmatch is a 6v6 experience in which each team is tasked with being the first to achieve 30 eliminations in a round. In addition, all players have unlimited respawns, as well as a choice of five different preset classes. The overall goal of winning in Team Deathmatch is to rack up wins in just two rounds.

As popular as these modes are, Mixtape is set to replace arenas permanently, and it’s unknown when or if the turn-based mode will return in the future. In the meantime, playing this playlist is certainly an excellent way to earn skins and accessories in the Battle Pass, with various daily and weekly challenges awarding Battle Stars to those who complete them.
