Hard West 2 is a game of strategy and it becomes clear in the first chapter how strategic you need to be. You’ll need to pay attention to your party’s gear, who you take to each battle, your loyalty, and what poker cards each party member is holding. Poker cards play an important role in the game, so it stands to reason that you should try to collect as many of them as possible. Here are all you can collect in the first chapter of the game.

All chapter 1 poker cards in Hard West 2

It might seem a bit unfortunate, but there are 13 poker cards that you can find in the first chapter of Hard West 2. Each of these cards bestows stat increases and bonus traits on the character who holds them, making them one of the more useful items in the game. Keep your eyes peeled as you go through the chapter.

Nine of spades, king of diamonds, queen of clubs

All three maps can be found at the beginning of the chapter, after waking up from your Ghost Train battle. Find the undead thrashing about while tied to a pole with cards sticking out of his chest.

Jack of Clubs, Jack of Hearts, Nine of Diamonds

Proceed to the first chapter and complete Boomtown. You need to talk to Mervyn afterwards. He will help you exit the valley if you get his harmonica from the mine. No matter what interaction you choose in the mine, you will end up getting the cards.

The Jack of Diamonds

After helping Mervyn, he will tell you about a secret passage at Whissel Point. Take the secret passage and you will be prompted to fight the enemies in the area. If you fight and win, you get the poker card.

Ten of Hearts

You will receive this card as part of the story. After hitting the tracker, head to the Holy Site. Complete the battle here to get the card.

Ten from Clubs

Later in this chapter you will be given the task of visiting Calla Calla. You will get into a gunfight here and the reward for completing it is this map.

Queen of Spades

Visit the spirit totem and enter Flynn’s dream. This starts a scenario. Complete the main objective of the scenario to get the card.

Nine from clubs

During the Spirit Totem scenario, complete the secondary objective of picking up Flynn’s journal pages to get the card.

Queen of Diamonds

After working through the chapter for a while, you’ll begin a scenario at O’Kane Farm. If you complete the main objective in this area, you will get the Queen of Diamonds.

Ten of spades

At the end of the chapter you will return to Boomtown and you will have a final scenario where you will have to find a siphon. You get the card for completing the main objective in the scenario.
