All Ceanataur item drops and percentages in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is packed with unique endemic wildlife of all shapes and sizes. The Ceanataur is a distant relative of the similarly armored Hermitaur. They share some items and materials, but not all are the same. These crustaceans can provide excellent materials for constructing armor and decorations for defensive purposes. They’re harder to find than most creatures, with the only consistent spawning point being the Flooded Forest area. This guide will cover all of their dropped materials and items that you will be rewarded for carving.

The best place to find a pair of these monsters is by searching area three of Flood Forest level in Master rank Expeditions. Two or three of them will spawn on each run and will respawn if you wait between five and ten minutes. You’ll need to defeat them quickly, as they will eventually burrow in and run away if you don’t take them down fast enough.

Of all the items this monster can drop, the main hull is the most common part, by far the most useful. Here are the drop percentages for each Ceanataur carve.

  • Ceanataur Shell – 48% carving chance.
  • Tough Claw – 32% carve chance.
  • Carapaceon Brains+ – 20% chance to carve.

The Ceanataur and Hermitaur have awesome armor sets that they can provide with their unique material drops. Farming this armor is recommended for all archers, especially if you are using stab ammo types.

With his critical eye maxed out and peak power abilities, this armor set is great for archers. These two skills guarantee lots of critical hits and big damage buffs when you’re at full health. This armor can also be used with the longsword, but it really shines in the hands of a good bow weapon with piercing ammo.
