Alfa Romeo Tonale receives five-star ANCAP rating

The Alfa Romeo Tonale has received a five-star rating from ANCAP based on Euro NCAP testing of the small crossover.
His rating has a 2022 date stamp as the tests were conducted according to the previous 2020-22 testing protocols.
The five-star rating applies to both Ti and Veloce.

ANCAP says it scored well in all four key areas of the assessment, offering “good overall performance” for adult, child and vulnerable road user protection, as well as its ability to actively avoid an accident.
It received an adult occupant protection rating of 84 percent, a child occupant protection rating of 87 percent, a vulnerable road user protection rating of 67 percent, and a safety assistance rating of 85 percent.
Category results differ slightly from Euro NCAP for adult occupant protection (83 percent) and child occupant protection rating (85 percent).
“We are delighted that the extensive safety features of our Alfa Romeo Tonale Hybrid have now been recognized here in Australia,” said Billy Hayes, Stellantis Senior Vice President for India and Asia Pacific.
Standard safety equipment on all local Tonale models includes:
- Autonomous emergency braking with detection of vulnerable road users
- Lane Departure Warning
- Adaptive cruise control with stop/go
- Reversing camera with front and rear parking sensors
- Traffic Sign Recognition
- Intelligent speed assistant
- Six airbags
Speed adds:
- Side parking sensors
- Level 2 traffic jam assistant autonomous driving
- Surround view camera
- Blind spot monitoring
- Rear Cross Traffic Alert
The base Ti starts at $49,900 before road costs, and the Veloce starts at $56,400 before road costs.
