Alex Pereira vs Israel Adesanya Middleweight Title Rematch Booked For UFC 287

Israel Adesanya of New Zealand lost his UFC Middleweight Title in the main event of UFC 281 by TKO to his old rival Alex Pereira in the fifth round.

After losing the title and appearing on the MMA Hour show, The Last Styleblender expressed his desire to fight the Brazilian again to pay off his past debts and the Nigerian-born fighter also cited that he was also after the rematch would fight twice.

“I’ll watch the fight again. I haven’t seen the fight again, but I don’t think I’ll fixate on it because it’s not one of those things that say, ‘Oh damn it!’ I will fight him again. I’ll probably fight him two more times.”

Pereira also had the same desire to defeat Adesanya again,

“I’m going to fight him, that’s no problem. If it’s two boys. Adesanya and any other guy, I would choose Adesanya if I’m honest. I don’t pick another guy just to not give Adesanya a chance. If he really wants it, then he’s next.”

And now the official announcement of this duo has surfaced as UFC President Dana White announced that Adesanya and Pereira will face off in the main event of UFC 287.

UFC 287 will take place in Miami on April 8, 2023, but the venue has not yet been announced.
