Albion Online’s new video walks through the sandbox journey from zero to hero

As a pre-order advantage for Albion online The Albion East server will continue ahead of the free-to-play launch this weekend. Sandbox Interactive is very aware that new players may have no idea what they’re doing and what to expect from the sandbox, which isn’t exactly known for holding hands. Even former players will likely be a little lost, as weapons, the UI, and even the cities have all undergone major overhauls over the years since launch.

To that end, the studio has released a brand new video that walks players through the basics of the game, from the tutorial to the starter cities, with hints at armor, weapon and combat skill leveling, and the marketplace. Mounts, dungeons, resource gathering, crafting, islands, guilds… it’s a lot. Of course, the video also goes into detail about the game’s PvP system and city faction wars, trying to encourage player immersion.

But even in a freeform sandbox where you can do anything, knowing the boundaries of what “everything” really means is crucial to understanding what you want to do next.
