Albion Online Teases Legendary Weapons, a New Line of Weapons, and “Real Castle and Siege Battles”

The start of Albion online The Albion East server has seen several ups and downs for both realms over the past week, but Sandbox Interactive calls it successful and pushes into the future in its new developer video, which might be welcome for players looking for something new right now to actually Do. Specifically, later this quarter the game will reintroduce the Rites of Spring event with a new twist, release a Beyond the Veil content patch that improves Roads of Avalon and adds a new dungeon to The Mists, and the next “big” content update.

Game director Robin Henkys tells gamers that the studio’s current development strategy is to “simultaneously nurture, improve and revolutionize the game”. These include “better fundamentals” (improving core mechanics like the marketplace, looting, economy, crafting, and player islands), “continuous content” (adding new content like gear choices, events, and weapon lines – notably a new weapon line for the hunter tree), and “awesome features” (new scope-expanding mechanics like legendary weapons and “improved casting behavior around walls and elevation changes” intended to be a “precursor to proper castle and siege combat that can be done by player fortifications.” Hmm!
