“Age is just a number,” responds Twitter as Fernando Alonso leads the rain-damaged FP3; as Sebastian Vettel finished P3 » FirstSportz

Fernando Alonso and Sebastian Vettel just showed everyone what they can do when they have the right car balance under them after FP3 in Montreal.
The sport’s two veterans finished the rain-soaked FP3 session of the Canadian Grand Prix in 1st and 3rd place respectively and it shows that the two former champions still have what it takes to compete in motorsport’s premier class, Formula, cut well one.
Social media has been in full swing since the end of FP3 and the talk of the town has shifted from Red Bull and Ferrari to Alpine and Aston Martin, all courtesy of Alonso and hag.
Fernando Alonso and Sebastian Vettel have been riding great guns since Friday and today, when most drivers struggled to set a decent lap due to the treacherous conditions, Alonso and Vettel put in excellent laps which saw the Spaniard top the timesheets during the German it was up to the third.
Alonso took the top spot in a time of 1:33:836, while Vettel was just +0.055s adrift of the Spaniard in third place.
Can Fernando Alonso and Sebastian Vettel finish in the top 5 in Montreal qualifying?
During FP3 all the drivers were on wet tires and the likes of Carlos Sainz, Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez couldn’t set a competitive time, surprising most F1 commentators.
The trio were a long way from Vettel, who finished third, and it just goes to show how important experience is, especially in a sport like Formula 1.
Aston Martin and Alpine have both looked strong in the wet conditions and things are expected to stay that way during qualifying, given all of this Alonso and Vettel have a serious chance of finishing qualifying in the top five for their respective teams.
It would be great if the two could finish qualifying in the top five as it would give them a chance to take the podium at tomorrow’s Canadian Grand Prix.
But the question is, will they be able to carry their FP3 form into qualifying? What do you think about it?
