AFL teams: All information about the 12th round

The first bye weekend is here, but 14 AFL teams are still in action, with Melbourne and Carlton making several changes for the pressured sides’ blockbuster duel to open the twelfth round.

Elsewhere, Port Adelaide captain Tom Jonas, who is available for one game after a suspension, will not return to the seniors to face Hawthorn and may not be recalled next week either.

Port manager Ken Hinkley acknowledged how rare it is to drop a captain from the team when he is fit and available.

“It’s a big decision, a significant decision, but it’s a challenge for a team in really good shape,” he told reporters on Thursday.

“Really consistent with our behavior and we’re not parting ways whether it’s the captain or a first-year player.”

Hinkley said the key defender accepted the news with humility and is ready to play his role on Port’s SANFL team.

The final game of the weekend will also see significant changes for Essendon and North Melbourne.

The Bombers have dismissed Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti after poor form, while Tarryn Thomas is rejoining the Kangaroos after behavior problems off the field.
