AEW top Rampage match changed due to travel issue, new match group for Friday

A new match and a match change were announced for AEW Rampage on Friday on TNT.

It has been announced that Jade Cargill will be taking action against Janai Kai on Rampage. Thunder Rosa, who will face Cargill in the upcoming semi-final for the AEW TBS Title Tournament, will comment.

Rosa notes this week AEW Dynamite that AEW President Tony Khan allowed her to pick a Rampage match for comment because of Chris Jericho’s absence after he was attacked by Daniel Garcia and 2point0 during a behind-the-scenes segment.

Rampage will also have AAA World Tag Team Champions FTR play against PAC and AEW World Tag Team Champion Penta El Zero M in a non-title match.

The tag match was originally scheduled for the Lucha Brothers to defend their AEW World Tag Team championship against FTR in a 2 of 3 falls, but on Dynamite it was announced that Rey Fenix was due to miss Rampage due transport problem. PAC, currently wearing the fog eye patch he took last week from Malakai Black, was announced as Fenix’s replacement, and the match was changed to a non-title straight match.

It was previously announced that Rampage on Friday will see the AEW TNT Champion Sammy Guevara Protect the strap against Tony Nese.

Friday’s AEW Rampage matches were taped Wednesday night at Gas South Arena in Duluth, Georgia after Dynamite aired. You can click here for the full spoilers.
