Adam Kinzinger bid farewell to Tucker Carlson’s ‘love’ for Russia

Answer. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) is the host of Fox News Tucker Carlson as a reason why some Republicans have become reluctant to stand up to Russia over tensions with Ukraine.

CBS News anchor Margaret Brennan interviewed Kinzinger on Face The Nation. She outlined “an interesting trend in the conservative movement right now”, where standing up against Russia is no longer a bipartisan stance. Brennan noted that Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) recently called on the Biden administration to stop supporting Ukraine’s entry into NATO, a position Kinzinger rip Hawley by calling him a “self-enhancer” [sic] Scammers. ”

Other Republican Party also suggested that the United States should not get involved in tensions between Russia and Ukraine, so Brennan asked Kinzinger, “What’s going on here? I mean, how is a significant part of the Republican Party moving in this direction? ”

Kinzinger doesn’t think a “large” number of Republicans have made this point, “but it’s just too big, and it’s growing, and that’s a big concern.” He called out Carlson shortly after by saying “there are a significant number of people who are doing it with Tucker Carlson who talk about how amazing it is.” Vladimir Putin and how Ukraine is really part of Russia. “

Kinzinger continued:

I think it’s a couple of things. First: it may be some foreign policy naivete, not in Tucker’s case. I think that’s the sentiment for authoritarianism. And I think Vladimir Putin has done a great job of engaging in culture wars and culture wars, and in essence he is seen as the guardian of the culture of the past. And so it’s very scary. And by the way, you know, Ukraine is not certain. Currently, a third of Georgia is occupied by Russia. No one will stop them from going into the rest of it. Then you have the Baltics, you have the Balkans they are interfering with. This is a terrifying moment, and any Republican with a crush on Vladimir Putin has no idea what our party stands for or what the prominent nation stands for.

Critics have accuse Carlson about ramping up pro-Putin propaganda because of his criticism of the United States’ opposition to potential Russian intervention in Ukraine. The Fox host has rejected argumentsay in one recent interview “It’s too stupid. I do not speak Russian. I have never been to Russia. I don’t care about Russia. All I care about is the fortunes of the United States because I have four children living here.”
