Adam Cole vs. Anthony Greene is now official for the AEW Dark episode next Tuesday.
Tonight’s AEW Dark saw Greene beat Jameson Ryan in a singles match, taking his first win with the company. After the match, Tony Schiavone interviewed Greene in the ring and revealed that AEW President Tony Khan had booked Greene vs. Cole next week, as Greene has made strides and found success since starting with AEW. You can watch the interview in the round below.
Greene tells Schiavone he’s feeling good, but he’s feeling great now. Then he talked to Cole and said that he didn’t go to AEW just for the sake of one job, he came to work with the best wrestlers in the world and now “The Alternative” is going straight to peak.
Greene, formerly known as August Grey, signed with WWE on August 2, 2020 but was released on June 26 of this year. He debuted on AEW Dark in September of this year, losing to Evil Uno. Since then, he’s teamed up with Stallion Rogers to lose big to AAA World Tag Team Champions FTR, join Bear Country in a six-man defeat to Dynamite to Jon Moxley, Eddie Kingston and Darby Allin, and then lose to Bobby Fish on Dynamite Saturday Nights in October.
Next week’s game will mark Cole’s debut on AEW Dark. The match was filmed back in late October at Universal Studios in Orlando, and you can find the full breakdown from the taping at this link.
