According to MLB insiders, a dark horse is emerging

The trade rumors about Juan Soto just don’t stop. Now there’s a surprising Dark Horse team centered around the incredibly talented Juan Soto.

MLB insider JP Morosi has reported not to sleep over the San Francisco Giants acquisition of Juan Soto. They seem to be making a very late push for him.

We all thought the Giants would sell Carlo Rodon, Joc Pederson and others at the deadline. Maybe that’s not the case. The Giants aren’t far from wild card standings. You still have plenty of time to make a late push.

If they took on Juan Soto, they would instantly jump into playoff contention with a bat that could launch endless home runs at McCovey Cove.

Could the Giants take on Juan Soto?

The Giants have prospects of trading for Juan Soto as well. Their young left-handed pitcher, Kyle Harrison, is considered a No. 1 player. Outfielders Luis Matos and SS Marco Luciano would also be excellent candidates.

Another major reason they could try to acquire Soto, aside from the obvious, is to sign him for a renewal. The Giants aren’t afraid to spend money. Perhaps they see trading for him as their best chance of signing him. This comes after her failed pursuit of Bryce Harper a few years ago.

It doesn’t hurt that this would prevent Soto from going to arch-rivals Dodgers and Padres as well. Either way, this dark horse team could just pull off a mind-blowing MLB trade deadline trade. It would certainly cement this trade period as one of the absolute best in MLB history. It just depends on how desperate the Giants are.
