Aaron Rodgers on the future with Green Bay Packers: The end is near

In an interview with NFL Network’s Albert Breer, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers hinted that his career could end sooner than he thought.

After bragging Back-to-back MVPsGreen Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is entering the 2022 NFL season with uncertainty about his future.

NFL Network’s Albert Breer reported Monday that the Packers franchise quarterback, while speaking with Rodgers, hinted at the possibility his career could end sooner than many thought.

Given the Packers’ offseason so far, it wouldn’t be that surprising to see Rodgers leave. The lack of off-season activity coupled with the loss of Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders trade has left a gaping hole at wide receivers’ core.

In April, Green Bay’s two first-round picks in the form of Devonte Wyatt and Quay Walker were spent on defense. Green Bay picked Christian Watson of North Dakota State in the second round, but he’s a rookie. The Packers would select UCLA offensive tackle/guard Sean Rhyan in the third round.

With Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon still patrolling the backfield and Robert Tonyan at the tight end, Rodgers’ closet isn’t exactly empty, but not as much as he’d like.

Aaron Rodgers knows his NFL future is bleak

If this is the end for Aaron Rodgers, it’s hard to ignore his impact on the organization of the Green Bay Packers, both good and bad. On the plus side is the number of NFC championship spots under his stewardship and a win in Super Bowl XLV, the first title for Green Bay since Super Bowl XXXI when Desmond Howard, Reggie White and Brett Favre helmed the show.

However, there was the incident when Rodgers lied about the vaccination. Then there was the reported rift with management, along with the Green Bay front office’s decision to draft Jordan Love. It wasn’t the smoothest ride, but a win will often ease the turbulence.

It sounds like Rodgers is about to hang up his shoes. Until then, we will sit back and appreciate his contributions to the National Football League and stand ready to present him with his gold jacket whenever he is eligible for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
