A titanic sandworm with arms squirms in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Leaks and My Nightmares

The latest iteration of the infallible Pokémon franchise is fast approaching with Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, and leakers have taken to the web to share all the Pokémon goodness yet to see the light of day. From new mechanics to a variety of Pokémon being added to the roster, fans will get a sneak peak at the highly anticipated title. Including seemingly terrible bosses.

Orthworm, the bobblehead of dreams

The leaked image appears to be a screenshot from a boss fight, denoted by a unique title suffix and a larger health bar than is typically seen in other Pokémon Scarlet and Violet leaked screenshots. The sandworm is much taller than the Pokémon trainer in the screenshot, slightly doubling the trainer’s height even when it’s lying horizontally. Orthworm wouldn’t be the first giant Pokémon boss in the franchise, but whoever designed this monstrosity definitely has a sense of low-poly terror.

It’s not clear if there will be a version of Orthworm that players can capture and add to their teams. Without an active Pokédex offered in the leaked images, or more data from leakers, much of the data on Orthworm in the title will simply be an unknown factor until the official release of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

It’s important for fans to note, especially when leaks and rumors are flying fast and innumerable, that leaks aren’t really trustworthy. Since they cannot be authenticated, it is far too easy to forge images and data or otherwise fabricate them as a hoax. Additionally, it’s unlikely that either Nintendo or The Pokémon Company will step up and authenticate the leaks that have surfaced so far. The best way to verify the accuracy of the leaked data is to simply wait for the full release of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
