A rare record that Chelsea has in the victory against Juventus

Chelsea will hit a rare record in a 4-0 win over Juventus on Tuesday.

Chelsea 4-Juventus 0

Chelsea received Juventus at home at Stamford Bridge in the Champions League clash not long ago.

Thomas Tuchel’s men entered the game in west London with the awareness that they needed to win by a good scoreline to have any chance of topping their Champions League group.

And this is exactly what Chelsea did on the opening night with an impressive 3-0 victory.

Trevoh Chalobah opened the scoring tonight:

Reece James would then add the Blues’ second goal of the day, before Ruben Loftus-Cheek made it 3-0 after 58 minutes.

Timo Werner then made it 4-0 in stoppage time of the second half.

Chelsea’s rare match record

After Chelsea scored their 3rd goalrd Goal of the night, it was revealed that the Londoners were in line with a rare record.

Their three goalscorers tonight – Chalobah, James and Loftus-Cheek – are all English.

This means, according to Opta, Chelsea’s win on Tuesday is only the third time a team has had three different English scorers in a Champions League match:

This is only the third time a team with three different English players has scored in a Champions League match (Chalobah, James, Hudson-Odoi), after Man Utd v Brøndby in 1998 (Beckham, Cole, Neville, Scholes ) and Man Utd v Roma in 2007 (Carrick, Smith, Rooney).
