A high snap leads to a mad scramble and a wild touchdown for St. Edward

In the opening minutes of St. Edward’s (Lakewood, Ohio) vs. Good Counsel (Olney, Maryland) football game, it was clear that the offensive players still had some early issues to work through.

The pace was set for an inefficient offensive performance in the first half when some of the craziest throws and ball fights ensued, causing teams to race back 40 yards while battling for control to the goal line and beyond.

In the end, the St Edwards defense managed to catch the ball, although several Good Counsel players got their hands on the ball in the end zone.

That madness ended with the first touchdown of the game and the only St. Edward points of the first half. At half-time, the two teams were tied by seven points each.

St. Edward got rolling in the third quarter, scoring 14 unanswered points to take the lead in the fourth quarter. The Eagles are currently 1-0 this season and are looking to pick up their second win and continue their quest for a third straight championship.

This is Good Counsel’s season opener. The Falcons led 8-3 last season.
