A Drinan man dies in a head-on collision in the Bundaberg region

A Queensland man has died overnight in a horror accident involving two vehicles north of Brisbane.

The 73-year-old was killed when his Kia Sportage collided head-on with an oncoming Toyota Prado in the Bundaberg area on Friday night.

The man, who was the sole occupant of his vehicle, was driving south on Walaville Goondoon Road in Drinan at around 5.45pm as the tragedy unfolded.

He died at the scene, while two 20-year-old men and a 51-year-old woman in the 4WD sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Forensic Crash Unit officers are investigating and are calling for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage of the incident to come forward.
