A BLM Activist Running for Louisville Metro Council Charged With Intentional Murder

A Louisville BLM activist has been identified by the Louisville City Police Department as a suspect in the attempted shooting of mayoral candidate Craig Greenberg. Activist Quintez Brown, 21, has been charged with attempted murder and four other counts of endangerment after Brown was linked to an attempt to shoot Democratic mayoral candidate Craig Greenberg.

According to the LMPD, Brown allegedly fired multiple shots at Craig Greenberg’s campaign office on Monday. The police report said Greenberg was unharmed but a bullet had grazed his clothing. The gun used in the incident was a 9mm pistol.

Brown was arrested after an officer saw him walking in clothing that matched the shooter’s description. After Brown was searched, police discovered he was in possession of a loaded 9mm pistol and a bag of magazines. Surveillance video of the shooting also led officers to believe that Brown was the shooter.

Mayor candidate Craig Greenberg, who was nearly fatally wounded, told WRDB:

“We are all lucky, and I am so lucky to be standing here with you today. Although a bullet came so close that it grazed my sweater and shirt, no one was physically harmed and we are incredibly grateful for our safety,” Greenberg said. “We’re shaken, but safe.”

Greenberg has previously publicly stated that if elected he would form a community-friendly police force. Family members and friends were shocked at Brown’s arrest. The Courier-Journal magazine where he interned as a student at the University of Louisville was also skeptical. On December 15, 2021, Brown announced that he was running for Louisville’s 5th District Council and even uploaded a campaign video to his Twitter account, check out:

The motive for the shooting remains unclear, but Brown’s Twitter account may offer hints as to why he was trying to kill Greenberg. In several tweets, Brown praised the “Black Communist Revolutionaries” and the Black Panther Party, a Marxist-Leninist Black Power political organization. In other tweets, Quintez expressed support for other Communist and Socialist leaders throughout history. Here’s a tweet from Brown last month:

Last year, Quintez Brown made national headlines after he went missing for two weeks. He was eventually found but his family has not released a statement regarding his disappearance. However, his family released this statement reported by WLKY which read:

“Thank you to everyone who has given their time, energy and love over the past 11 days to search for our son, Quintez Brown. We are so lucky to say we found him. He is with his family and he is safe. We ask for privacy and will appreciate everyone’s patience and support while we address our most immediate need, which is Quintez’s physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.

It appears his disappearance has something to do with his “mental health” but that cannot be confirmed. At the height of his disappearance, several rumors were floating around that he was killed by police officers for his actions, which was completely untrue.
