8 Netflix Shows You Forgot To Premiere In 2022 (For Better Or Bad)

Netflix used to value quality over quantity, but its content plan has changed quite a bit in recent years thanks to a significant increase in competition. Now, most streaming services are churning out more original content than subscribers can keep up with, and Netflix is one of the biggest offenders of content bloat. With so many Netflix shows released each week, it’s impossible to keep up with every single one.

While most people have heard about Netflix’s greatest hits of 2022, such as stranger things season 4, Monsters: The Story of Jeffrey Dahmer, Wednesday, Bridgeton Season 2, invent Annaetc., there were many shows that flew completely under the radar or were simply forgotten soon after people stopped binge-watching.

Maybe you saw a trailer for a show that initially caught your eye but has since just been gathering dust on your watch list. Did you even know that Melissa McCarthy has released a new comedy series? What about the adult animated show? Farzar of the Paradise PD Creator? Or the new romantic comedy by Neil Patrick Harris disconnected?

Below, we’ll highlight a few Netflix shows that have come and gone without much ado — for better or for worse).

blockbuster came and went so quickly that it wouldn’t be crazy for some subscribers to have missed the series altogether. The sitcom, which premiered on November 3, was scrapped just a month later.

That’s rare with a Netflix series, as the streaming service typically takes longer to make renewal decisions. blockbuster was a workplace comedy aimed at filling the void that left Supermarketbut even Randall Park and Melissa Fumero weren’t enough to save this show.

Hit series by Darren Star Emily in Paris is one of Netflix’s most successful comedies. Star tried to replicate that success with the romantic comedy disconnectedwith Neil Patrick Harris. disconnected isn’t bad, but with hardly any publicity, the show struggled to find an audience.

It could become more successful if Netflix refreshes it and invests in marketing Emily in Paris/How I met your mother Crowd. If this is one of those series that has completely slipped under your radar, you might want to check it out, especially if you’re a fan of Star’s other series such as Sex and the City and Younger.

God’s favorite idiot

Count yourself lucky if you haven’t checked in God’s favorite idiot. Melissa McCarthy is excellent as always. In fact, most of the cast is solid and on nice terms with each other. The problem is… everything else. The show looks cheap, the plot is disjointed at best, and the writing is awful.

Netflix has pre-ordered 16 episodes, but we haven’t heard anything about filming the second half of the season, which doesn’t bode well. if God’s favorite idiot Didn’t land on your watch list earlier this year, blessed be you.

Paradise PD and brickberry Creators Waco O’Guin and Roger Black have teamed up again for another adult animated comedy series titled Farzar. And if this is new to you, you’re not the first to say it.

Farzar started streaming in July and we haven’t heard from the show since. If you weren’t watching Farzar, don’t beat yourself up too much; It was not good. Paradise PD and brickberry aren’t great either, and Farzar is somehow worse than both.

keep breathing

Did you know that Jenna Ortegas Scream co-star Melissa Barrera in addition Did a Netflix show premiere this year? Maybe not. Barrera gave a decent performance in the Netflix survival drama keep breathing. but keep breathing also came out in July and many were still going high yellow jackets, which had completed its first season a few months earlier.

Yellow jackets is a phenomenal survival drama with a similar plot, albeit much darker. Anyone tuning in keep breathing while chasing the Yellow jackets high had to be disappointed. keep breathing takes things in a more grounded direction, focusing more on mental health and trauma processing than on thrills.

Netflix Mon

Of all the shows on this list, Mon stands at the forefront of those who have been forgotten but should not have been forgotten. Mon is an excellent comedy-drama and even got a 100% Certified Fresh seal of approval on Rotten Tomatoes!

It should have caused a stir during Emmy season (it did I do get a Gotham Award and an AFI Award!), but Mon came and went this past summer with minimal fanfare. Unfortunately, the series didn’t crack Netflix’s top ten, which is a shame because it’s a good show and I hope Netflix gives it another chance (and promotes it next time).

Honestly, it’s shows like this that get dumped on Netflix and forced to sink or swim in an instant that makes me tease the binge format at times. i wonder how Mon would have occurred if it aired weekly on HBO, Showtime, or maybe Hulu.

In from the cold

In Out of the Cold

Premiered a long time ago in January 2021, almost a full year Year Before writing this article, In Out of the Cold was a funny spy thriller starring Margarita Levieva as a CIA agent with a secret ability. Interestingly, as December has brought us, Netflix has decided to end the year with spy shows the recruit.

In Out of the Cold got off to a pretty strong start but quickly fell off and never garnered much social media chatter or the all-important word of mouth. If you love the spy genre it might be worth checking out, but otherwise you’re not missing much and chances are this is another one-and-done as we haven’t heard from Netflix about its fate.

Completely new

Completely new

Completely new is another good show that fell victim to Netflix’s poor promotion strategies. Despite excellent performances from the cast, particularly star Zoe Saldaña, Completely new made no notable uproar.

Based on Tembi Locke’s memoir, Completely new Saldaña plays an American student studying in Italy who falls in love with a sous chef. The good thing is that Completely new always seems to have been intended as a limited series, so if you missed it you can catch up and still have a satisfying ending (but I warn you to bring the tissues for that tearjerker!).

Mon, Completely newand disconnected are three Netflix shows worth revisiting if you missed them completely or forgot they existed when they released in 2022.
