When the day gets cooler and the leaves turn a crisp orange, I’m in a great mood. I want to light a cranberry-scented candle, curl up in soft blankets, and start one of the many great fall themed video games – games that take place in the fall months or have a bright and full fall backdrop.

I’ve always been one proud fall lover. This is for very unoriginal reasons, mostly because I was born in October and I identify myself as a creepy, movie loving, creepy bitch. However! The months leading up to the winter chills also squirm with exciting opportunities in ways other seasons don’t.

Fall is a beginning – back to school and tangled in a warm scarf, time until just Listen to Taylor Swift. But this sweet start quickly changes and dies. Bare branches will soon look like burnt fingers, and it’s time to tremble to a Halloween party. Then, the next morning, you wake up thinking about cake and tense family dinners. The warmth of your home will hum in your ears. The transition period will almost be over, and you will have lived through all of its good, bad, and scary times.

Like the season they reflect, fall video games encompass moods, activities, and colors. Here are some great ones from all sorts of genres that keep fall’s multi-faceted pumpkin seed at heart.
