7 Bonkers Minecraft Mods That Will Blow You Insane

Returning to modes that make things much, much harder, our old friend Fundy was so confident in this next challenge that he pledged $2,000 to the person who completes it the fastest before October 31, 2021 admit.

The player must also keep a cat named Boots – named after Fundy’s real cat – alive and in relatively close proximity, or the player dies. That means Boots has to accompany you to the ender dragon.

You won’t do any on a similarly explosive topic cake soon: cane explodes when hit.

If you somehow make it to the Nether, every step will set you on fire. Standing still won’t set you on fire, but you’ll still explode. “The only way for you to survive the Nether is if you wear leather boots,” explains the mod’s creator, but the catch is that they degrade the longer you wear them.

Finding the ending isn’t easy either. The Eye of the Ender recipe has also been modified to require an ink sac and lapis lazuli. The ending was heavily modified. “Those were just warm-ups. It’s fun here,” Fundy tells viewers. End crystals are encased in glass that cannot be shot through Minecraft, while water kills you, and the ender dragon – already a fearsome challenge out of the box – has been changed to throw TNT, which it’s immune to when settling down. Should the ender dragon take damage, it will throw deadly magic at you in revenge. Should you end up making a bed and trying to sleep in it? It spawns another ender dragon that you must defeat; There is no limit to the number that can spawn.

If you somehow manage to defeat the Ender Dragon(s), he has another attack up his sleeve: heaps of magic and TNT will rain down on you. “I really don’t know how you’re going to do it. I have no idea if that’s even possible. I didn’t try; I’m not going to try that,” Fundy told viewers. In the video description he stated that he had not revealed all the tricks of this difficulty either.

But against all odds, Minecraft Players tend to find a way. Fundy was able to confirm to me that the challenge was up and that “a few” players reached out to him with proof of their runs. However, there is some ambiguity as to who actually won the challenge as he does not conclusively remember. Speaking to Fundy, he explained that it was “probably” the YouTuber Yatsuwho roughly beat it one hour, 49 minutes and 29 seconds. However, Yatsu explained this draconix was the fastest and “House Builder Gang” claimed on Twitter won and received the funds.

Yatsu recognized two important things in the rules that helped them succeed: you’re allowed to do it in multiplayer, and you can choose your own seed, provided that the end portal is not pre-populated. After many failed attempts, Yatsu came across what they thought was the perfect seed. Strategic deaths were used to regenerate health, and realizing that there is a cap on the maximum number of mobs that can spawn in one go, they took advantage of this to run mostly unopposed. Yatsu did this by digging a hole two blocks deep, placing a log, and then breaking it so the silverfish would be trapped there and consume the allowed mob limit.

Do you think you have what it takes? While the contest period is over, the plugin is still available. I spawned in and my attempt was immediately ended by an arrow-machine gun-shooting skeleton. On my second attempt, I was able to survive about ten seconds.

Minecraft‘s community is thriving and there’s no denying their love for entertainment masochistic challenges is strong. A strong community – including mod developers – centered around games is an important factor in their continued longevity.
