BALTIMORE (WJZ) – Baltimore County officials arrested six minors on Saturday after they allegedly assaulted a security guard and injured two officers at Towson Town Center, authorities said Sunday. .
The county police responded to several reports of groups of minors causing riots at the mall on Saturday night.

“As the group was being disbanded, two of our officers were pepper sprayed, one security guard was assaulted,” Baltimore County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Joy Stewart said at a news conference. on Sunday.
Officers arrested six minors and charged them with a variety of charges ranging from disruptive conduct to assault, Stewart said.

Stewart said investigators were looking into whether security guards and officers were intentionally targeted because “they were the ones who had been pepper sprayed”.

Lindsay Kahn, a spokeswoman for Brookfield Properties, the retail space rental company in Towson Town Center, told WJZ it has zero tolerance for that type of behavior.
She noted that Brookfield Properties implemented a request for parental guidance following minor disruptions in 2016 in an effort to minimize those types of disruptions.
Kahn declined to say whether additional security guards would be assigned to the mall.
