50 firefighters put out a house fire that injured 3 people in Frederick County – CBS Baltimore

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — According to the fire department, it took 50 firefighters an hour to put out a house fire that injured one person and two firefighters in New Market, Maryland.

The fire consumed part of a two-story home on Block 6500 of Twin Lake Drive.

Firefighters from the Frederick County Division of Fire and Rescue were dispatched at 4:14 p.m. Sunday to put out the blaze, fire officials said.

When they arrived, they found large flames on the first and second floors of the house.

The size of the fire prompted firefighters to fight the blaze with an offensive attack and to request rapid intervention.

According to the fire department, two adults and two dogs were able to leave the house before the fire department arrived.

One of the adults was taken to Bayview Medical Center with minor burns.

The two injured firefighters were also taken to a Maryland hospital and released, firefighters said.

According to authorities, the fire caused $225,000 in damages.
