50 Cent refuses any opportunity to mend his relationship with his son

50 Cent has opened up about his estranged relationship with 26-year-old son Marquise Jackson.

The Power creator sat down virtually with The Breakfast Club hosts and answered Charlamagne The Gods’ question about a potential reunion between him and his son.

During the 21-minute mark of the interview, 50 Cent was asked about his son’s request to “sit down” with him to work out their past problems. The rapper-turned-actor claimed his son’s request was far from genuine.

“You don’t call TMZ to say you want to sit down. He wants some attention and that’s okay, you can have as much of that as you want. You know, it’s just that he’s been trained to believe that what he says in his interview…what he says he’s been taught to believe for a long time.”

The rap mogul began delving deeper into his personal relationship with his son’s mother, Shaniqua Tompkins, and how her relationship impacted him and his son’s relationship.

He said: “When I said he has a claim, it’s actually his mother’s claim, but it has been filtered. See when I told you I give her half a million dollars a year.”

50 Cent continued, “They’re going through the paperwork, they’re looking at half a million dollars a year, at this point they were still expecting more. That’s why I brought her to child support.”

The “Many Men” rapper redirected his topic, explaining that his father-son relationship with Jackson just doesn’t work.

“I don’t think the relationship will work. I’m not – look, Charlamagne, I’ve been chasing him a long time where he’s been going and he’s left the places. We’re talking about a kid, that’s not even a kid he is [then] 25 years old.”

Earlier this month, Jackson announced on Instagram that he wants to spend more time with his father. The 25-year-old went so far as to state that he was willing to pay a few thousand dollars for some time.

Jackson has also previously slammed his father for past child support payments, saying the “get rich or die trying” actor’s $6,700 monthly payments weren’t enough to sustain a quality New York lifestyle.

While the saying goes “blood is thicker than water,” blood for 50 cents doesn’t always mean you’re entitled to a relationship.
