5 Warner Bros characters we want to see in MultiVersus
A detailed Reddit post goes into every potential character that could be coming to MultiVersus. Among the characters on the Reddit post are Joker, Gandalf, Harry Potter, King Kong, Godzilla, Neo from The Matrix, Johnny Bravo, Rick and Morty and many others. Despite all of these leaks, there are still plenty of characters in the Warner Bros. library that would make excellent playable characters. It’s fun beating up Superman as Shaggy, but imagine teaming up with Bugs Bunny as Pennywise It. That would make a MultiVersus an interesting, must-play oddity.
So here are five Warner Bros. characters that we hope to see in MultiVersus at some point. Hopefully sooner rather than later.
Interestingly, Arya is the only character from game of Thrones in MultiVersus. Given how extensive the show is and how iconic several characters are, we feel like MultiVersus lacks prime real estate. There’s a lot of speculation that the next Game of Thrones character should be Daenerys, but for our money we think it should be Jon Snow. He’s just as iconic of the series as Daenerys, plus he knows how to fight in hand-to-hand combat. His classic sword, the Longclaw, is one of the best looking blades of all time and it would be a shame not to see it in a game like MultiVersus.
The DC Trinity and Harley Quinn are already confirmed for the list, with the Joker possibly leaked. There’s a good argument that the Flash should make the list given that his live-action film is about to be released, but given the recent controversy with the actor portraying the Flash, we think it should be on the list best would be for MultiVersus to skip the Flash and move on to Green Lantern.
Several characters have assumed Green Lantern identities. For the sake of the list, we’ll pick the John Stewart version of Green Lantern. John Stewart is one of the most prolific African American superheroes in comics, playing an iconic role in the justice league Animated series from the early 2000s. For a generation of fans, John Stewart was their Green Lantern.
MultiVersus lacks representation when it comes to villains, despite Warner Bros. hosting some of the biggest villains in all of pop culture media. Arguably none is as notorious as “He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named”, AKA Voldemort. Though the Harry Potter franchise continues to stumble thanks to its author’s controversy and the lukewarm response to the Fantastical Beast film trilogy, there’s still a place for the series within MultiVersus. We might still be waiting for one of the main heroes to be confirmed for the game, but the snake-faced Voldemort is the far more intriguing choice. Who wouldn’t want to play the big bad in one of the biggest franchises of the post-2000s?
Pennywise the dancing clown
Speaking of villains, Warner Bros. helped produce and distribute the It movies. That It Movies are based on Stephen King’s novel of the same name and are considered one of King’s most famous stories. The story is about a shifting being that feeds on the flesh of humans and knows each person’s fears. It takes many forms but prefers to be a clown known as Pennywise.
Pennywise has single-handedly caused several generations of people to develop a fear of clowns and its portrayal in recent years It Movies are the stuff of nightmares. He’s arguably Stephen King’s greatest villain, and given Warner’s role in recent films, there’s a place for him in MultiVersus. Pennywise is the embodiment of evil, so it would be fascinating to see him face off against someone who is the complete opposite like Superman, who does all the good things for humanity.
Paul from Dune
Despite his very average name, Paul is the main protagonist of Frank Herbert’s epic space novel dune. There have been two motion pictures based on Herbert’s epic, the most recent being released by Warner Bros. Studios. dune revolves around a young nobleman named Paul whose family runs the desert planet called Arrakis. It turns out that Paul’s family was created and Paul must join forces with the natives of the Dunes to take back the planet.
Paul knows many melee techniques and he grows as a fighter like the story of dune progresses. The infamous suits Paul wears in the films and his sword-on-forehead fighting stance are tailor-made for a fighting game like MultiVersus. dune is also a hot property right now, with the sequel to the Warner Bros. released film due out in 2023. It would be wise if Warner Bros. picked it up dune somehow in MultiVersus.
