49ers fan roller coaster ride crashes Rams track – CBS San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO (KPIX) – The NFC Championship game delivered an impressive blow Sunday night for Niners Faithful and the jump rope athletes. At District Six in San Francisco’s South of Market, hundreds gathered at a clockwork party to watch 49 players take the next big step toward winning the Super Bowl title.

It was not allowed.

Still a night full of climax. Niners fans danced and cheered every time the team took the lead. The 49ers dominated the majority of the game until things started to unravel in the fourth quarter.

“Seeing them out like that was like ‘come on, we’re this close, we’re this close!’ All we needed was, like a first,” said Sierra Johnson of Walnut Creek.

“We are very sad,” said Vince Chang of Daly City.

“A good season, a good season, we expect a lot from this season but…” said Daly City’s Robert Marania.

“We are proud of our team,” said Orlando Novicio of San Francisco.

Many fans were too upset and upset to talk to KPIX on camera after Niners’ NFC Championship lost to Rams.

“It’s bittersweet, you know? We’re so close together, which reminds me of the Chiefs Super Bowl where we were in and then we squandered the lead,” said District Six creative director Anthony Schlander .

So many fans were on the verge of celebration.

“It is electricity. For the first time in months, people are getting outdoors, having a good time with friends and family, and feeling safe and connected, Schlander said. “I think everyone had a good time today.”

Schlander said fans lined up as early as 11 a.m. to get a table – two hours before District Six opened.

That’s still a win for small businesses — including food carts like Senor Sisig Vegano.

“Obviously I feel like we should have made it to the Super Bowl but I’m excited for the season – the fact that all of our players have stepped up and really done everything they can to get them. I got to this point and so I’m excited about next year,” said San Francisco supervisor Shamann Walton. “Niner Nation!”

The Rams will face the Bengals in the Super Bowl at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood on February 13.
