Deebo Samuel has not officially withdrawn his trade request with the San Francisco 49ers.

Although Deebo Samuel showed up San Francisco 49ers Minicamp, he hasn’t officially retracted his well-documented trade request from the team.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler mentioned this very fact during his hit-on sport Center sunday morning While he doesn’t think there’s a lot of chatter about a potential trade for the 49ers’ star wide receiver, it’s technically still in play. While embarking on the trading bloc in the run-up to 2022 NFL draftso much has changed in the league since the last weekend in April.

Although Samuel could stay in the Bay Area, here are three teams that could use him as well.

The Kansas City Chiefs still don’t have a real No. 1 wide receiver

While Kansas City bosses have approached the wide receiver position in a variety of ways this offseason, they still don’t have a real No. 1 outside of the numbers. Though Travis Kelce is a Mount Rushmore contender for the all-time tight end position, Mecole Hardman, a fourth-year pro who has never clinched a 1,000-yard season, is the Chiefs’ most experienced receiver in Andy Reids Offensive.

Granted, Kansas City is something of a dark horse to land Samuel for a handful of reasons. First, they traded Tyreek Hill for money. He was too expensive for what the Chiefs were willing to pay him. Second, Kansas City signed veterans JuJu Smith-Schuster and Marquez Valdes-Scantling to their free agencies. And third, the Chiefs capitalized on a day-two pick on West Michigan’s Skyy Moore.

Even if the Chiefs’ receiving room could be classified as deep, it doesn’t have the same upside it did when Hill was a part of it. Because of this, we need to consider the Chiefs as a potential landing spot for Samuel should he be willing to trade. While Kansas City is set to remain a perennial favorite super bowl Contender, at least the Chiefs play in the opposite 49ers conference.

Kansas City was a more likely landing spot for Samuel ahead of the NFL Draft, but it could happen.
