The Browns told their running back a trade with Kareem Hunt won’t go ahead, but these three NFL teams should make offers Cleveland can’t refuse.

It’s a wonder it’s taken this long, but Kareem Hunt is apparently tired of being second fiddle to the game Cleveland Browns backcourt. Reports surfaced on Saturday that he was essentially just doing one-on-one work at training camp, but then the hammer fell Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com reported that Hunt had requested a trade.

The Browns didn’t hear about it, however, as they told the running back they would penalize him for lack of practice and not trade him.

With that in mind, it has to be argued that for the franchise led by Nick Chubb in Cleveland, it would be better off selling Hunt to a team that could play a bigger role for him on offense. It could be that one of those other clubs will call the Browns and make them an offer they can’t pass up.

Specifically these three NFL Teams should call Cleveland about a trade with Kareem Hunt.

3. The Chicago Bears need to get Justin Fields another reliable weapon

The Chicago scene is relatively murky when it comes to offense (or generally). Yes, fans can pin their hopes on sophomore quarterback Justin Fields having a breakout season in 2022 now that he’s free from Matt Nagy, but even that will be difficult given the severe lack of talent around him .

David Montgomery is back as the starting running back for the Bears and has proven he can be a solid player. However, what he lacks is consistent pass catcher production and the explosiveness that a player like Hunt can offer.

With questions about Chicago’s offensive line and arguably the worst wide receiver space in the league — no shadow intended for Darnell Mooney — Fields needs more weapons to work with in the passing game. Equally importantly, he needs more check-down options, able to play ball in hand and hopes Cole Kmet makes a step forward.

Hunt would see to that, and the bears are in a position where they should be looking for anything. Wins won’t be plentiful at the Windy City this season, but it’s all about putting Fields in the best position to succeed, and Hunt would do that more than any other player on offense.
