When the MLB closes come to an end, Nelson Cruz will be one of the most coveted freestylers to sign to a team, but who will sign the veteran slugger?

The average 41-year-old man is said to cuddle up with his dad while possibly bowling twice a week to his most athletic endeavor. This is not the case for freelance MLB agent Nelson Cruz. Even though he’s up in the hills, he’s one of baseball’s hottest free agents, especially with the 15 teams in Major League Baseball suddenly turning into a match.

The addition of DH to the National League further prolongs Cruz’s career – as if he were ready to hang up his boots. Though his time with the Tampa Bay Rays was a bit disappointing (slash .226 / .283/.442), he hit 13 home runs and finished the year with a . 265/.334/.497 and 32 home runs.

Cruz has not shown the typical signs of aging that most players in his position have. Although the .300 batting average may not be in his future, the man could scratch the home runs with the best of them. Since 2014, he has finished each year without shortening more than 30 times. When the course is over, these three teams should try to sign him in hopes that he can be their DH and fuel them to victory.

Nelson Cruz Freelance Destination: Milwaukee Brewers

No playoff team is more likely to fail in 2022 than the Milwaukee Brewers. They have started to throw the ball. They have cow stables. They just have no offense.

This became apparent in the post-season when the Atlanta Braves took them out pretty easily. Adding Cruz will not only help improve their team, but will also bring him back to where he started his major league career in 2005.

Cruz is one of baseball’s most traveled veterans with stops along the way in multiple American League cities. A move to the National League is possible soon as he is still a midfielder. For most of his career, however, Cruz played comfortably as a DH for many teams.

The Brewers have not committed a crime in eight positions and there are no good crazy picks in DH. Cruz could completely change their roster and even help Christian Yelich get back into MVP form if he can provide some protection.

Because of his age, Cruz should not spend too much or expect to sign a contract for too many years. He’s the kind of investment that an existing team with a budget like the Brewers needs to target aggressively.
