3 small market teams attack Joey Gallo

New York Yankees outfielder Joey Gallo was a disappointment in the Bronx. With both sides going on, three teams are interested.
Gallo is just the latest example of a player unfit for New York City.
Baseball fans in the Big Apple are putting the pressure on. For Gallo, the face of the three outcomes era, it always had to end in disaster.
“Every time I see a Yankees hat, every time I see a Yankees jersey, I have to understand that.” Gallo said on Thursday at Yankee Stadium. “I didn’t play well as a Yankee. I wish I had.”
By all accounts, Gallo is a very nice person who will do anything for the diamond. By the end of his tenure with the Yankees, however, a strikeout was about the only true result he could count on.
MLB Rumors: 3 Small Market Teams Are Interested In Joey Gallo
Gallo’s numbers speak for themselves – they’re bad. Like, really bad. The 28-year-old cuts .159/.282/.339. He rarely, if ever, reaches the base. When he does that, he’s a good base runner as well as a capable defender. But these attributes only go so far.
Bob Nightengale reported that the Minnesota Twins and Tampa Bay Rays are interested in Gallo. Jon Heyman added a new team to the mix – the Milwaukee Brewers – who also want the opportunity to give Gallo a fresh start.
Beating Gallo at his turning point is nothing more than a shot in the dark. With Texas, Gallo was flawed but remained an All-Star caliber hitter. It wasn’t until he came to the Bronx that his rapprochement was strengthened nationally.
Perhaps with the right guidance, Gallo can regain his Power Strike and reach base more often than not.
