BALTIMORE (WJZ) – Three people were shot, including two dead, in a series of shootings Friday morning that took place in less than an hour across Baltimore, authorities said.
At about 9:10 a.m., an officer patrolling the 1700s of Latrobe Street found a 46-year-old man shot in the arm, Baltimore police said. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
Less than 30 minutes later, police said, officers were called to the 500 block of South Payson Street, where they found an unidentified male shot multiple times. He is believed to have died at a local hospital.
Just before 10 a.m., ShotSpotter Alerts led patrol officers to the 1800 block of Ashburton Street, where they discovered a man shot multiple times. He was taken to the hospital but did not survive, police said.
Baltimore has seen 43 homicides and 74 non-lethal shootings this year, compared with 34 homicides and 64 non-lethal shootings at the same time last year, according to police figures provided by the city.
