3 points drawn from Charlotte Hornets win over Washington

Lightning strikes twice! NS Charlotte Hornets beat the Washington Wizards for the second time in six days, this time with a score of 109-103. Terry Rozier and LaMelo Ball lead for Charlotte, combining for 60 points between them.

Washington has been one of the biggest surprises of the NBA season so far. After eliminating Russell Westbrook, hopes will not be too high for this team going into the season. They have proven the doubters wrong so far, entering tonight’s game with a record of 11-5, 7-1 at home.

The Hornets are not interested in any of this as Charlotte has now beaten Washington in both of their games this season. Charlotte moved into 11-8 into the season and have enjoyed some very respectable wins against some of the strongest teams in the league under them.

3 takeaways from Charlotte Hornets win over Washington: Tery Rozier shows

Terry Rozier played his best game of the season tonight and it couldn’t have come at a more perfect time. With Miles Bridges, and Gordon Hayward struggling to score in the basketball tonight, it was Rozier who kept the Hornets early in this game. Rozier had the whole game in his hand tonight and finished with 32 points. He started scorching hot from three, knocked out his first six attempts, and eventually finished 8-11 from behind the arc, including a dagger to seal the game.

3 Takeaways from Charlotte Hornets win over Washington: LaMelo Ball is this team’s best player

LaMelo Ball is currently the best player of this team. When this team is in trouble, James Borrego turns to Ball to help them get out of it. Whether it’s offensive or defensive, Ball can be trusted to make a game. He finished tonight’s game with 28 points, 7 assists, 13 rebounds and was consistently on triple clocks every night he played. Ball developed so much as a goalscorer and defender that he was able to become the best player on an All-Star team in just his second season. Maybe even an All-NBA team, it’s certainly not out of the question.

3 Takeaways from Charlotte Hornets’ win over Washington: The number of games the Hornets have played can catch up with them.

The Hornets have played the most games in the NBA so far this season. 19 games as of October 20 and it is starting to show. Especially, with our seasoned veterinarian Gordon Hayward. My guy looks tired and can use PTO for a few days. The Hornets have had a pretty bad start to their games this season, and that could be due to this overcrowded schedule. Maybe it’s time for Borrego to expand the lineup a bit when possible.
