For the Green Bay packers To win the NFC for the first time in over a decade, they’ll need a few younger players to make a big step forward this season.

The good news is that the Packers have drawn well for the most part in recent years. NFL Fans around the world may hate what the Green Bay blasters do each spring, but more often than not they are able to field a quality roster. Of course, the Packers need to win multiple playoff games before they can come back super bowl before Aaron Rodgers fully exits his prime.

If any Packers players are poised for breakout seasons, keep an eye on these three playmakers.

The Green Bay Packers drafted No. 34 Christian Watson for a reason

While the Packers have decided to continue their streak of not drafting a first-round wide receiver since Javon Walker in 2002, Green Bay picked up a very tall receiver in 2022 NFL draft who should be able to help him. Though he may have played at the FCS level, North Dakota State is a powerhouse and wide receiver Christian Watson is expected to do big things right away.

It doesn’t matter if it’s fair or not, Watson is seen as Davante Adams’ heir apparent in the Green Bay receiving corps. Like the best wide receiver in football today, Watson was a second-round pick. Given that Aaron Rodgers has made it into a Hall of Fame career throwing the ball to day two and day three draft picks, there’s undoubtedly a lot of pressure on Watson this year.

However, the reason he’s relatively low on this breakout candidate list is because he’s just a rookie. While some first-year players catch the draft hype right away, others may take a year or two to adjust to the pace of NFL play. In due course, Watson would become a fan favorite in Green Bay. For now, look for him to build a quality rookie season this fall.

Watson doesn’t have to be the Packers’ best receiving option, but glimpses of it should be forthcoming.
