Coming from the oldest MLB stadium in history, Boston Red Sox has seen many talented players come and go over the years.
The Red Sox have won a total of 9 World Series, putting them in won third place with the Oakland Athletics for most World Series wins. The Red Sox were founded in 1901 and have seen many of their players become All-Stars, Hall-of Famers, and overall leaders.
Players past and present have both led the Red Sox to many victories and successes, and there are a number of players who have truly become legends over the years. These three players may have been forgotten as former Red Sox players, but they certainly made their mark as MLB legends.
3. Babe Ruth started her career with the Red Sox
Although Ruth is primarily known for his time with the Yankees, he previously played for the opposing team, the Red Sox, from 1914 to 1919. Ruth was a key part of the team’s victories. World Series in 1916 and 1918, athletically strong and talented as a pitcher and hitter.
Although Ruth only spent one more season with the Red Sox before coming to the Yankees, he made his original legacy on the Red Sox. He then retired after 22 years and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1936.
