As the Houston Astros face the prospect of replacing Carlos Correa, here are a few options they should consider.
The Houston Astros are facing the very real possibility that Carlos Correa will end up playing for someone else in 2022 (assuming this shutdown ends). Correa seems to want a big paycheck. The Astros seem hesitant to give him anything close to what he wants. It was a difficult situation.
Now since Correa probably won’t be playing at Bayou City next year, the Astros may have to get a little creative as they try to replace him.
Here are three options to possibly replace Correa.

Trevor’s story
The simplest move might be to replace Correa with one of the other really good shortcuts in this free reseller batch. Trevor Story is a pretty good hitter. Why not hit him and see what happens?
There are a few factors that the Astros will have to consider with Story. His trauma history not exactly ideal (though, neither is Correa) and Story is generally a much more effective hitter when in Coor’s Field.
Will he be able to keep?
Story also seems to want a pretty big deal, and he probably won’t be as cheap as what the Astros really want to pay. But, one thing that really works in Houston’s favor here is that it doesn’t seem like Story wants an absurdly long contract. So perhaps a deal can be made here.
Plus, if you want to win, why not go ahead and pay for some stars that can help you win?
The story will make a lot of sense. Probably more reasonable than some of the other options in theory.
