The Cleveland Browns disappointed a year ago from a playoff appearance in 2020. It’s been quite an off-season for the franchise. What’s on the horizon?
It’s been a tumultuous few months for one of the league’s most maligned franchises. The track record of Cleveland Browns from 1999 shows that the team has won only three seasons and made the playoffs only twice. They’re coming off an 8-9 show in 2021 and will now be releasing some new starting quarterbacks.
Of course, the past few months have been packed with news about Deshaun Watson, quarterback for the new Browns. He will be suspended for the first 11 games of the season
Still, this is a very talented team on both sides of the ball and more than capable of returning to the postseason for the second time in three years. So what can we expect in terms of the predictions for Kevin Stefanski’s club?
3. Brown’s bold prediction: Cleveland wins in Week 1 for the first time since 2004
It’s been almost two decades since this franchise opened a season with a win. Dating back to 2005, the Cleveland Browns own a 0-16-1 record in Week 1. This year Kevin Stefanski’s team travels south to Charlotte to face the Carolina Panthers and their new starting quarterback at Baker Mayfield.
For what it’s worth, Cleveland is listed as an underdog in this competition. Perhaps that’s not surprising, considering this club has held an 0-6 record in opening on the road since 1999 — when the Browns returned to the NFL as an expansion team. Still, all bad things must come to an end, so…
