2023 Mitsubishi Outlander price and specs

Mitsubishi has made some tweaks to its 2023 model year Outlander line of non-hybrid SUVs ahead of first arrivals in January next year.

The LS Black Edition adds black 20-inch alloy wheels, premium paintwork, and blacked-out door mirrors, bumpers, and grille. Inside, it gets a black headliner, black “laser-etched” shifter bezel, and “Mi-Suede” seats with leatherette upholstery.

All 2023 Mitsubishi Outlanders now feature an Advanced Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) system that now works when reversing, as well as a memory setting for Auto Hold and an HVAC refrigerant update.

The entry-level Outlander ES gets further added safety in the form of rear cross-traffic alert and automatic high beams.

There’s a downside though: the Outlander ES-class now moves to an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto instead of the 9.0-inch interface with wireless Apple CarPlay – “due to ongoing parts supply shortages” . .

Further up the line are the Outlander Exceed and Exceed Tourer flagship pickup, Mitsubishi’s MI-PILOT driver assistant.

This adds Traffic Jam Assist (adaptive cruise control that re-engages after a full stop), Lane Keep Assist (using steering control assistance instead of wheel braking), and Speed Limit Assist (adaptive cruise control that adjusts the Outlander to the advertised speed limit).

The steering wheel in these classes now has touch sensors to control the activation of MI-PILOT, disabling the system if the driver’s grip is not detected, if the turn signals are on, or if the windshield wipers operate continuously at their highest speed .

Additionally, the Outlander Exceed and Exceed Tourer classes also get a heated steering wheel and sequential front turn signals, while the Exceed Tourer also adds standard rear seat heating and more two-tone paint options (Stirling Silver/Black Mica and Titanium/Black Mica are new).

The Outlander is a hit with buyers in the mid-size SUV segment, with 15,619 sales by the end of October and a 10.8 percent market share. That puts it ahead of the Kia Sportage (15,497) and Hyundai Tucson (14,493) and behind only the Toyota RAV4 (30,370) and Mazda CX-5 (23,476).

The Outlander is now easily Mitsubishi’s second best-selling car in Australia, after the Triton.
