2023 MG HS price and specifications

The MG HS entered 2023 unchanged, although a cosmetic update is due later this year.
The company has not yet announced details of the upcoming facelift program for Australia. However, MG has already presented the new model in China. British and Thai markets.

MG Australia says it has “drastically reduced” the number Number of all-wheel drive versions of the current model being imported into the country, suggesting that the 2.0-liter turbocharged engine may no longer be around.
For the time being, however, it remains on the price lists alongside the base turbo 1.5-liter and plug-in hybrid drives.
The prices were increased earlier in the year, with MG announcing $1,000 increases for the base Vibe and top-spec Essence X and Plus EV Essence. The prices of all other models remained unchanged.
MG began producing the MG HS in 2018 and came to Australia in 2020 initially with just a turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine.
The range was later expanded to include all-wheel drive and plug-in hybrid options, among other things.
MG now offers eight variants, with the price range for the base version of the Vibe starting at $32,990.
Last year MG Australia sold 10,948 HS SUVs thanks to strong supply. It sold better than GWM Haval H6 (7009), Honda CR-V (8123), Nissan X Trail (7943) and Volkswagen Tiguan (2658).

powertrains
MG Australia offers three powertrain options.
The MG HS Vibe, Excite and Essence features a turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 119 kW of power and 250 Nm of torque. It is equipped with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.
The Excite X and Essence He models are paired with a six-speed dual-clutch automatic and all-wheel drive.
The flagship MG HS Plus EV features a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine combined with a single electric motor on the front axle and a 16.6 kWh lithium-ion battery.
The total output of the system is 189 kW of power and 370 Nm of torque.
fuel consumption
The declared combined fuel consumption for the 2023 MG HS is 7.3 l/100 km for the models with the 1.5 liter engine, 9.5 l/100 km with the 2.0 liter engine and 1.7 l/100 km for the HS Plus EV.
The plug-in hybrid offers an all-electric range of 63 km and charging with 7 kW AC takes five hours.
All models require unleaded premium fuel with 95 RON and have a 55 liter fuel tank.
Dimensions
The 2023 MG HS Vibe, Excite and Essence is 4574mm long, 1876mm wide, 1664mm high and has a wheelbase of 2720mm.
The Excite X and Essence models
The luggage compartment of the MG HS is 463 liters and increases to a maximum of 1,287 liters with the second row of seats folded down. Plug-in hybrid models have 451 l or 1275 l space and do without the space-saving spare wheel set in favor of a tire repair kit.
The curb weight of the Vibe is 1,489 kg, while the rest of the models with the 1.5 liter engine weigh 1,550 kg. 2.0 liter models weigh 1700 kg and plug-in hybrid models weigh 1775 kg.
maintenance and warranty
MG Australia offers its customers a seven-year unlimited mileage warranty. For private buyers, the HS Plus EV also comes with a seven-year battery guarantee with unlimited kilometers.
Service is required every 12 months or every 10,000 km, whichever comes first. Maintenance is provided for ten years at a maximum price.
Security
The MG HS was tested by ANCAP in 2019 and received a five-star rating.
This rating was based on an adult occupant protection rating of 92 percent, child occupant protection rating of 83 percent, pedestrian protection rating of 64 percent, and safety assist rating of 77 percent.
