2023 BMW Z4 price and specs

BMW is making various changes to the Z4 for 2023, but bucking current trends by leaving prices unchanged.

The 2023 BMW Z4 will continue to be offered as the sDrive20i for $90,900 before road cost and the M40i for $133,900 before road cost.

The sDrive30i will not be part of the updated range. Customer deliveries of the 20i and M40i are slated to begin in early 2023.

The changes are mostly cosmetic, with a new exterior styling package, new wheel design and fresh paint colors.

The new styling package features a newly designed kidney grille with horizontal slats and new side air curtain inlets for the front apron.

In addition to M Portimao Blue and Skyscraper Gray, the color palette of the Z4 has been expanded to include the rich violet Thundernight Metallic from the new 2-series.

There is also a new 19-inch M alloy wheel design in Bicolor Jet Black matt with a diamond-polished edge.

The optional M Sport Plus package also includes BMW’s M Lights Shadow Line treatment, replacing the chrome headlight elements with black ones.

The Z4 is mechanically unchanged for 2023. Although its platformmate Toyota Supra has received a manual gearbox in the form of the top-of-the-line M40i, it has yet to be confirmed for the Z4.

The Roadster also continues to feature BMW Operating System 7, although recent BMW launches feature the new Operating System 8.

The BMW Z4 sDrive20i is powered by a supercharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with an output of 145 kW and 320 Nm of torque, while the M40i is powered by a supercharged 3.0-litre in-line six-cylinder with an output of 285 kW and 500 Nm.

Both models are rear-wheel drive and use an eight-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

The 2023 BMW Z4 consumes 6.5 l/100 km in the combined cycle in the sDrive20i version and 7.5 l/100 km in the M40i.

It requires 98 RON premium unleaded fuel and has a 52 liter fuel tank.
