2022 Daytime Creative Arts & Lifestyle Emmy Awards Winners (FULL LIST)

The 2022 Daytime Creative Arts & Lifestyle Emmy Awards took place at the Pasadena Convention Center on Saturday, June 18, with big winners including syndicated talkers The Kelly Clarkson Show and The Drew Barrymore Show, and The Young and the Restless” and “Penguin Town” from Netflix.

Kelly Clarkson received five awards, followed by Penguin Town with three. Aside from syndication, Netflix was the big single network winner, collecting nine total, spread across Penguin Town, Cat People, Headspace: Guide to Meditation, and You vs. Wild: Out Cold.

Also of note is that the final season of The Ellen DeGeneres Show received a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Writing Team for a daytime nonfiction program. And in the first season, Judge Judy Sheindlin’s new series “Judy Justice” won IMDbTV (now Amazon Freevee) for legal/court broadcasts. (It also repeated the first-ever Daytime Emmy for IMDbTV/Freevee.)

The event kicks off next week’s 49th annual Daytime Emmy Awards telecast, which will air live on CBS on Friday, June 24. This ceremony, held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, begins at 9 p.m. ET (with West Coast tape delay). ); It will be available on Paramount+ to subscribers whose premium accounts include local CBS channels. Otherwise, all Paramount+ users will be able to watch the show on-demand starting the next day.

This is the first year under the agreement between the two major TV academies, in which several categories have been realigned to focus on genre rather than segments of the day to balance eligibility between primetime (managed by the LA-based TV Academy) and splitting up Daytime Emmys (administered by New York-based NATAS). It is also the first year that the children’s and family programming categories have been removed from both shows and moved to a new Children’s & Family Emmy Awards competition and ceremony, the first new Emmy show since 1979. (This event will be held at held in December.)

“This Old House” received a Lifetime Achievement Award during Saturday night’s event. The show, which received two more nominations this year, has now reached the threshold of 100 nominations. This Old House, which premiered in 1979, is in its 43rd season.

Overall, CBS’s “The Young and the Restless” received the highest number of Daytime Emmy nominations that year with 18, followed closely by ABC’s “General Hospital” with 17. Among outlets, syndicated fares earned the highest scoring with 48 nominations from various broadcasters , followed by two networks at the top: ABC and CBS, both at 31. (Netflix followed at 27.) New networks to receive their first Daytime Emmy nominations include MasterClass, Discovery+ and IMDb TV (now renamed Amazon Freevee). The full list of nominations can be found here.
