18-year-old star Cameron Robbins may have been attacked by a shark

Cameron Robbins, a Louisiana baseball star, had just graduated from high school and was preparing to go to LSU in the fall. To celebrate, he took a sunset cruise in the Bahamas on a tourist ship called Blackbeard’s Revenge, where another passenger apparently challenged him to jump overboard.

According to one Inside Edition account, Robbins flinched. When the boat crew threw him a lifebuoy, Robbins reportedly swam away from it and disappeared moments later. That has led to speculation that a shark may have attacked the teenager.

“A lifebuoy was thrown into the water after jumping off the ship, but it swam away. And in the next moment he was gone. There is speculation that Cameron may have been trying to outrun a shark after video captured a shadowy image in the water. A shark sighting could also explain why the Louisiana teenager just disappeared into the water.”

Robbins’ teammates and friends held a vigil for him in Baton Rouge.
