12 stars who have spoken out about the Ozempic trend in Hollywood

From celebrities who deny using it to those who freely admit to taking the drug… here are 12 stars weighing in on the drug
If you’ve noticed that a lot of celebs have gotten super skinny lately, you’re not alone.
While it might just be the result of the extra time in the gym, many stars are rumored to be using the prescription drug Ozempic to shed pounds fast.
Ozempic, or its generic name Semaglutide, is a popular diabetes drug that has been adopted by many for its weight loss side effects. And since the drug has become so popular, it’s reportedly becoming harder and harder for people to get hold of – especially diabetics who actually need it to treat their condition.
Ozempic use has become a hot topic in Hollywood, and many stars are now facing allegations that they are using the drug. Meanwhile, others openly admit that they have nothing to do with the trend and have even tried it themselves.

1. Jameela Jamil
Jameela Jamil is one of the latest celebrities to speak out about Ozempic after noticing fans were debating why everyone was so “thin” at the Oscars this year. In a poignant statement on her Instagram, Jameela revealed that “LOTS of people have been taking injections for weight loss this year,” which she noted “doesn’t keep the weight off permanently.” Jameela added that she wasn’t trying to be “biased,” but wanted to discourage her followers from getting “triggered” or making “any sudden decisions because of the images of impossible standards that are coming out today.”
“It’s a temporary extreme,” Jameela wrote. “None of this lasts. Very rarely it is unrestrained and healthy. Don’t be ashamed because you don’t look like these women tonight.”
2. Julia Fox
Over the past year, fans have noticed that Julia Fox has lost a significant amount of weight. Due to her changing appearance, some have accused her of using Ozempic – but she says she never would.
“All these people come up because of me and say I’m taking things for weight loss… People say I’m taking Ozempic or whatever it’s called. I’m not and I never have … I would never do that. There are diabetics who need it,” she told Entertainment Tonight.

3. Kyle Richards
“Real Housewife” Kyle Richards has also been charged with using Ozempic to lose weight, but she denies ever touching the drug. She explained that she had never heard of it until recently and was “offended” and “angry” that anyone thought she was using these methods to shed pounds. Instead, she says her weight loss is natural and she puts in a lot of work at the gym.
“I didn’t even know about Ozempic until I had already lost the weight I wanted to lose,” Kyle told People. “Actually, I started losing weight eight months ago because I stopped drinking alcohol eight months ago. At first I thought, ‘why are you saying I’m on this diet drug?’ Then they thought, “Well, maybe it’s a different kind,” because I said, “It’s not Ozempic.” It was never any diet pill, I never touched it. So it really just frustrated me because I train really hard.
4. Chelsea handler
Chelsea Handler admits she’s been on Ozempic once, but she didn’t even know it. She explained that if she ever wanted to “lose five pounds,” her anti-aging doctor gave her the drug, but didn’t explain what it was. She decided to give it a try, but didn’t realize it was Ozempic until she started showing symptoms. Chelsea says she’s off the meds.
“I don’t take it anymore. That’s too irresponsible. I am an irresponsible drug user, but I will not take any diabetes medication. I’ve tried and I won’t. That’s not for me. It’s not for me,” she said on the Call Her Daddy podcast. “I injected about four or five of my friends with Ozempic because I realized I didn’t want to use it because it’s silly. It’s for heavy people. Everyone is on Ozempic. It will backfire, something bad will happen.”

After followers noticed Khloé Kardashian’s extremely slim figure, rumors surfaced that she was Ozempic. Khloé eventually denied the claims and clapped back in the comments section of her Instagram.
“Let’s not discredit my years of training. I get up at 6am 5 days a week to exercise. Please stop assuming,” she wrote. “I think New Year still means mean people.”
6. Katie Maloney
Vanderpump Rules star Katie Maloney says she’s not against the idea of using Ozempic. While discussing the trend of celebrities using the drug, she shared that she believes everyone should do what they want with their own bodies.
“I say everyone does what you want to do. Understand the risks, and if it’s right for you, it’s right for you,” she told People. “I think the expectations [for women to be thin] will always be there, whether this miracle cure exists or not. The pressure will always be there. So thank you Hollywood, thank you media, thank you society for keeping it going. But I just think, you know, if it makes you happy, follow your bliss.”

7. Lala Kent
Lala Kent admits she feels differently about Ozempic than her Vanderpump Rules co-star. The reality star says she’s “enough” of people taking it for weight loss and thinks it’s time for her to stop.
“I think Hollywood is kinda crazy. We have to do better,” she told People. “I think there’s a lot of things that need to change, and it starts with us, and there are times when I roll my eyes and say, ‘F–King, make it better, all of us.’ We all need to participate in becoming better role models for our children in the outside world.”
8th. Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi
Shahs of Sunset star Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi recently revealed that she uses injections to help her lose weight. Though she didn’t specify whether she used Ozempic or an alternative, GG said she turned to medication because she was having a hard time shedding the weight she had gained from steroid injections, which she was taking for health reasons. In four weeks she went from 137 pounds to 126 pounds.
“I had a very, very, very difficult time getting rid of that weight. I’m on the weight loss shots, honey, ok. I just won’t lie about it because I always keep it real what’s wrong,” she shared on Instagram. “When you see people out there who have suddenly gotten skinny so fast and have claimed that it’s the first time in their living healthy or sobering up from the alcohol that caused them to gain so much weight…most likely they’re just doing the recordings.”

9. Rosie O’Donnell
After recently losing some weight, Rosie O’Donnell explained that it was medication related – but she’s taking it because of her type 2 diabetes. In a TikTok, she revealed that she’d lost 10 pounds in less than a month thanks to a combination of medication and a new healthy lifestyle.
“Two months ago my doctor prescribed me, not Ozempic, Mounjaro, something like that … and [cholesterol medication] Repatha,” she explained. “I do one every two weeks, the other once a week… I’ve actually stopped drinking five or six Diet Cokes a day too… And my appetite has decreased significantly – it’s probably the meds. And I try to move more. So you know all those things together, that’s it.”
10 Pattie Stanger
“Million Dollar Matchmaker” Patti Stanger says people she knows across the country all use Ozempic. She later revealed that she also uses a weight-loss shot.
“I’m on the syringe. I will tell you the truth. I took Semaglutide which is the ingredient in Ozempic. I got the worst heartburn. And I didn’t feel good. So I stopped doing it for three weeks,” she said on the Behind the Velvet Rope podcast, adding that she’s now taking Tirzepatide and has fewer symptoms.

11. Megan McCain
Shortly after Meghan McCain gave birth to her second child, she says friends “urged” her to take Ozempic to help lower the baby’s weight. She explains that she finds the whole thing “terrible, unfair and upsetting” and never wants to take what other people need to stay healthy.
“I was even offered a black market giveaway by someone with ‘extra shots at home.’ …Let me make one thing very clear. I do not take it. I refuse. There is a clear moral problem here. It’s hard to take a drug because swimsuit season is upon us while others need it to stay alive. And how can that be healthy?” Meghan wrote in a column for the Daily Mail.
12. Jillian Michaels
Celebrity trainer Jillian Michaels says there are many downsides to taking Ozempic and she recently had to help several friends get off the drug. She explained that once someone stops taking it, the weight comes back, so it’s not even worth it.
“I have stopped the parents of at least eight family friends from this drug. She [were] They get palpitations, they get nauseous, they feel like s–t,” she told People. “Once they stop taking the drug, it creates the rebound effect. So you gain nothing. You stop the drug in a year and you go all the way back. You haven’t learned anything. They have not built physical strength or endurance. You haven’t learned how to eat healthily. The truth is that Ozempic does have some pretty significant side effects. Do your homework. The results are mostly temporary.”
