No joke, the fits are so clean – and so bizarre – that I couldn’t help but chronicle the best of the best. From the ubiquity of school uniforms to the most witchy getups, I’ve collected 12 of the freshest digs I’ve seen in my time with the colorful inks.

Fashion has always been an important part of splatoon, mostly because the gear you put on your squid kid directly affects your overall stats. Clothing can do things like Increase your ink reserves so you can throw more paint or Boost your defenses against ink so you can do more damage. You can find out the abilities of each piece of gear in the shops in Splatsville, where you can buy, upgrade and trade clothes with in-game money.
However, cash isn’t the only way to unlock clothing items. As with OG splatoon, the Threequel offers amiibo support, which is a nice way of saying that some of the best — or wettest — clothes in the game are locked behind you if you own a specific amiibo. Murch, the hot sea urchin who can order gear at a pretty steep pricecan’t help you here.

Still, the threads on display at Splatsville are incredibly eye-catching. In the slides that follow, you’ll see an eclectic mix of styles, including creepy Chuck-E-Cheese-esque mascots and people who look like them Brotherhood of Steel refuses Stand out series. Many people are re-experiencing 90s fashion with bold colors. And there is this one pair of elegant shoes Everyone carries what can only be copied from the Inkling Girl amiibo. It’s a shame, but the outfits people have put together are awesome. So let’s look at some squid drops:
