1 dead after car crash in Douglas County

Colorado Highway 86, east of Franktown, is reopened to variable traffic after being closed in both directions due to a fatal accident.

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. – One person died Sunday morning in an accident near East State Highway 86 and Warriors Mark Drive, which is east of Franktown, a spokesman for the Colorado State Patrol said.

The spokesman said two vehicles, each with a driver and a passenger, were involved in the accident: an Infiniti sedan and a Dodge truck towing a trailer with an ATV.

The driver of the limousine died and the other three people were taken to a hospital with serious injuries, the CSP spokesman said.

Colorado Highway 86 is now reopened to variable traffic after being temporarily closed due to the accident.

The The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office reported The road was temporarily closed after the accident on Sunday afternoon. Colorado Highway 86 between Tanglewood Road and Village Pines Circle — a mile east of Franktown — was closed at Mile Point 9, according to the CDOT’s traffic map.
